Tournament Facility

The tournament will take place at the Teamhaus event facility in the village of Boltigen. Originally built in 1842, the "Bären" served as a hotel and restaurant before undergoing a major 15-month renovation in 2010/11. Now it has been reborn as a modern, one-of-a-kind event center, where groups can rent out the entire building for multi-day events, such as team workshops, summer hiking/rafting trips, ski holidays, and yes even ... Go tournaments!

The sleeping area includes 11 rooms with more than 30 beds. Most rooms have their own bathrooms, with shower and toilet. The restaurant area, with seating for 40 people, has a full commercial kitchen to keep the players well fed! The dining room and lounge will serve as our primary playing areas, although, if the weather is suitable, we would also have the option of playing outside on the terrace.

The seminar room on the top floor will be reserved for game reviews, lectures, and casual/warm-up games.

Perhaps the most unique part of our stay here will be all of the opportunities we have for recreation and entertainment at the end of the day. To physically unwind, there is a whirlpool on the terrace that seats up to 8 people, and in the basement there is a sauna and relaxation room.

And to get your mind totally off the game, there is a billiard room, plus a fussball table and Wii in the Game Room. Also, we will be showing a movie every evening in the cinema room (something related to Go, of course!).

Our hosts, the Teamhaus management, have graciously agreed to be the primary sponsors of this event. To learn more about the Teamhaus and all of their offerings, check out their website here. Thanks very much, Teamhaus!
